Mother's Day is a big stickin' deal! And if my kids don't get it right this year, they're toast! 😡

Ok, the was the old me talking. I'm a recovered psycho-mom who no longer meltsdown on Mother's Day, so my kids are free to run to the drugstore mid-day and come back with card and a pack of skittles: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOM! 🤯

Seriously, things are not that bad around here, and I've already brought myself a slew of gifts for them to present to me, so I think I'm positioned pretty well to have a good day. 🎁

In the meantime, I thought I'd share some of my favorite Mother's Day photos from YEARS PAST. They feature a slew of "Mom" coffee mugs ☕ I brought myself, cupcakes 🧁 I brought myself, and some gifts I prepared for the young moms in my life.

I have such a love/hate relationship with Mother's Day, but I'm rather starting to love it. 💕

Buckle your seat belts, mommas! No matter how we are honored tomorrow, we're going to be thankful and gracious, and it's going to be a great day! 🥳 💌

I tried to talk Autumn into blowing-out her hair for prom because in my mind, a classy event calls for straight hair. I'm a product of my generation; my mom straightened my hair with a HOT COMB 🔥 (Hello, somebody!) for as long as I can remember. (Until I was almost 50 years old and transitioned to natural hair, I didn't know what my natural curls felt like. 😳)

If she had straightened her hair it would have stretched down her back, and I figured: Hey, if you got it, flaunt it! 😉 But this little lady was having none of it. "I'm not straightening my hair for prom, Mom. I'm wearing my curls. This is the hair God gave me and I love my curls." 💕

And so she did! 💪🏼

She researched "elegant, natural hair styles for prom" and decided to wear a braid-out (for length) with an exaggerated side part and a half goddess braid, bedazzled with crystal embellishments. 💎

What can a mom say when her daughter decides to embrace who God made her to be and not be a conformist? She joins the party! 🥳

Great job, Autumn! 🙌 This mom says you pulled it off. 💯

BIG! SHOUT! OUT! 📣 to the Nassau County LEAH Ho

BIG! SHOUT! OUT! 📣 to the Nassau County LEAH Homeschool group for throwing an awesome prom for their students and allowing kids from the Suffolk County LEAH, Brooklyn/Queens LEAH, and KingsChoice LEAH chapters to attend! ❤

Tonight, my sweet girl, Autumn Joy, was all dressed up with somewhere to go! 💃 She had so much fun shopping and getting dolled-up for the big event!

Kuddos to her sisters who all served as her Fairy God Mothers: Ashley did her make-up. 💋 Alexis helped with her nails. 💅 And she wore Angel's Lady Couture Wedding Shoes! 👠

I helped style her hair. She was adamant about wearing her natural curls and not straightening it. She loves her curls! 💕

This little lady is a soft spoken, hard working, God honoring junior who is heading off to college in just one more year, and I'm enjoying all of these mom-milestones while they last. 🥰 💕

There's nothing like family to help make a girls' dreams come true. 🥰

I haven't posted on my blog in over a year, but if you've read any of my Psycho Mom articles, then you know that buying my own gifts is one of the tactics I use to avoid getting my feelings hurt on the BIG day. 😩 💔

Well, at least that was the old me, before I was delivered and set free from having an annual Mother's Day meltdown. My bestie, Shadell cast out that spirit of "woe is me" right over the phone! (Casting out spirits via teleconference? I didn't even know that was a thing!! 😳)

I may be delivered, but I can assure you that old habits die hard; hence, shopping for my own gifts. And on that note, why it's taking my kids so long to wrap my gifts? 🤔 (I know this because I snuck downstairs and peeped the bag I passed off.) 😉

It's the end of another school year, which means i

It's the end of another school year, which means it's time for some seasons to end. Yesterday, I had the privilege of leading these precious little ones in song at our local Classical Conversation's End of the Year Celebration. 🎵

It was a joy to substitute as their tutor for 6 weeks. 💕 Though I may never have the privilege of subbing as a CC tutor again, I am grateful for the season, while it lasted.
